Business Tampere wanted to establish a self-driving ecosystem of industrial innovation activities in the Tampere Business Region. The region has large industrial enterprises that have shown willingness to join forces, creating a larger force of innovation activities.
Business Tampere wanted to find a provider of said innovation services, one that is willing to look at regional development as a sustainable process.
Business Tampere wanted to tie the existing ecosystem, consisting of universities, startup communities, public establishments and student associations to the program, thus strengthening the unity within the region.
Vertical accepted the challenge and formed Rapid Tampere, a platform for innovation activities matching the needs of industrial enterprises with the offering of innovative companies all over the world.
Year 2019 of Rapid Tampere consisted of a Venture Client programme with Caruna, Kalmar, Valmet and Sandvik.
- End to end delivery of a Venture Client – style innovation program for 4 industrial clients
- Venture Client track: Caruna – Data Enrichment to Understand Customer Needs
- Venture Client track: Kalmar – Man Meets Machine
- Venture Client track: Valmet – Enhanced Human Capacities
- Venture Client track: Sandvik, ongoing until March 2020
- Helping in branding Tampere as an internationally competitive hub for industrial innovation
We organised individual selections for all four participating companies, where applying companies got to sit down and work on their offering with industry experts from the client companies.
Each client selected 1-3 applicants to continue co-creating with.
