The last years have seen an increase in the number of women networks resulting in a bigger presence of women in the tech, startup and business fields. For example, our Spring batch’17 counts with a 40% ratio of female co-founders. However, the lack of female founders and presence of women in the boardrooms of companies is still very clear.
At Vertical, we have always believed in the importance of equality and diversity and we are actively supporting these aspects across our activities directly and partnering with organizations such as Girls in Tech Helsinki or The Shortcut. And this is why,we couldn’t be happier when our Bogdana and Ana-Belén came with the idea of organizing a women and healthtech program at the biggest health startup event in the Nordics, Upgraded Life Festival, bringing together more than 1.100 attendees including investors, corporates and startups.
To make this happen, Vertical partnered with the organizer of the event, Health Startup Association of Finland – HealthSPA and Girls in Tech Helsinki. The aim with this Women and Healthtech track is to enhance the visibility of women in this sector making an impact whether their businesses are linked directly or not to women’s health but also to speak and get to know morea about the products, trends & opportunities on femtech.
The Women & Healthtech track includes an informal networking breakfast, kindly provided by Microsoft Flux. During the breakfast the pictures of women in the health sector will be show case and top notch female professionals taking over the stage on April 26. This includes one internationally renowned speaker and a panel discussion focusing on women’s health, trends and innovations. In addition, we will be hosting a round-table around women and technology and we will wrap-up the track with the “Upgraded Life Festival Female Founder Award 2017”.
The program of the Women & Healthtech track could be found here. Vertical is looking forward to meeting you all at our stand at Upgraded Life Festival and getting to know even more inspiring women and men in healthtech!
